"People are starting to get kinda hostile to gas prices," Allen Miles of Alive Outside in North Platte said. "Our sales are fairly brisk now."

People are looking for bikes to ride to work, Miles said, either new or used.

"We are seeing lots of bikes come in for repairs - bikes that haven't been ridden a while," he said. And, people want to carry items to and from their destinations, even their jobs.

At Budke’s Power Sports, sales are brisk on three-wheel Spyders, which have plenty of acceleration. The three-wheelers with two front wheels get up to 45 miles per gallon, according to a Budke salesman, or 30-35 miles per gallon, according to consumer comments posted on the Internet.
