I don't like throwing clothes out, so as I've earned more money, I've spent more sensibly on items I can keep going back to. But I always add a few seasonal trendy items that might not be permanent additions to my wardrobe.

I know pastels like pale pink and pale blue are on trend for spring, but they just don't suit me. I prefer more vibrant colours, like purple and emerald green. Admittedly, these are easier to carry off in winter, whereas in summer I opt for bright yellows or blues. Muted and primary colours are a good basis from which to build up your wardrobe.
