Bluegrass group Cumberland Gap Connection plays the Mountaineer Opry House in Milton Saturday.

Composed of four musicians from Kentucky and Tennessee, Cumberland Gap Connection is an energetic modern bluegrass band known for aggressive instrumentation mixed with distinctive vocal harmonies. While it plays some traditional songs, the group also writes and performs a great deal of original music.

The group released its fourth record, "A Whole Lotta Lonesome," this past January on Kindred Records.

The band's previous record, "Grandpa's Swing," was met with success, and the song "Gravel Springs" was in the Top 10 on the Bluegrass Now Fan's Choice Top 20 charts eight of nine months.
