S/S 2011 is our first collection and it was inspired by the Art Deco period and strong architectural lines. We used a lot of textural contrasts and mixed materials that you wouldn’t normally think to pair together. Also each style is influenced by a place I’ve traveled to, and I’ve actually named each bag after a favorite street.

Having worked in various facets of fashion, at what point in your life did you find yourself better suited for the design side of the industry? I’ve always wanted to design, but I knew it was really important to have a strong business background as well. Working in fashion marketing gave me a solid foundation and taught me how to sell and promote a brand. It wasn’t until I was styling and working with designers that I realized that it was time for me to make the switch over. So I enrolled at Parsons School of Design and it went from there.
