How well do Yves Saint Laurent bags wear?

My hesitation is due to a lack of experience with YSL bags. They mostly don't appeal to me at all (though very much so to my grandmother) but this one caught my eye. However, it became apparent to me that I don't baby my bags. Some can handle my wear habits (Louis Vuitton) and many cannot. If I actually love a bag, I don't want to see the leather crack or seams come loose. My Marc Jacobs Quilted Stam bag has deliver seams on the bottom! I want to make sure that YSL bags can truly withstand years of compressed wear. The leather is so supple that I'm afraid it will tear or crack.

Please don't answer if you are only assuming or automatically connecting the name trade-mark to implied high quality. If you have personal (not "someone you know") taste with these bags then please let me know how you feel. Thank you.

Saiyuki_Anyone? answered: I do not own a YSL Mombasa bag, but I do own a YSL Be in a brown study. I work in a hospital and I can tell you that this bag has put up with a lot of abuse from me (shoving it in my locker, taking it to lunch in the cafeteria, stuffing my pharmacopoeia booklets and lunch and other personal items in it). It's a good investment bag and I would never part with it. I have Vuitton bags that I unperturbed back in the early 90's and I can be honest with you that I would get rid of those first without hesitation before I even remotely consider my Muse bag.

Are the YSL (Yves Saint Laurent Majorelle) Bags great looking in person? I have only seen them online.?
